Community Cats Program
Trap, Neuter/Spay, Release (TNR) for Community Cats and Ferals
SUPPORT THE COMMUNITY CATS PROGRAM
This program works! Our community has noticed a remarkable decrease in the number of feral cats! The process of TNR involves humanely trapping a community cat or feral and taking it to a veterinarian to be spayed or neutered and vaccinated. After recovery, the cat is returned to its home outdoors. Thank you for your interest in supporting the Community Cats Program's Trap-Neuter-Return (TNR) efforts in Northumberland Borough.
The Benefits of TNR
Colonies that are involved in TNR diminish in size over time
Mating behaviors cease, such as roaming, yowling, spraying and fighting
The Pennsylvania SPCA, Danville's TNR service includes surgery, rabies and FVRCP vaccines and an ear tip
